SIR is excited to announce that Compelling Conversations will return to SIR Central (Booth 537) at SIR 2023. With nine 30-minute expert Q&A sessions on timely topics in IR, you won’t want to miss these discussions.
Throughout the meeting, the Compelling Conversations program will take place during breaks in the Expo. The conversations provide the perfect opportunity to have your questions answered by topical experts, meet plenary speakers and hear diverse perspectives. In previous years, the conversations have generated a substantial crowd, discussing topics such as practice building, continuing education, SIR initiatives and more.
This year, members will have the chance to meet with plenary session speakers to ask questions and further conversations that are vital to the field of IR. Those in attendance will also be able to meet IRs from around the world.
On Monday, March 6 from 10–10:30 a.m., coordinator C. Matthew Hawkins, MD, FSIR, associate professor of radiology at the Emory University School of Medicine, and Minhaj S. Khaja, MD, MBA, FSIR, professor of radiology and cardiac surgery at the University of Michigan, will take on “Compelling Conversations: The unfortunate truths of the healthcare payment system.” Later that day, from 2:30–3 p.m., don’t miss the Underrepresented Minorities (URM) Section discussion with panelists William Alago Jr., MD, FSIR, director of IR at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Juan Carlos L. Perez Lozada, MD, associate professor at the Yale School of Medicine, moderated by Keith M. Horton, MD, FSIR.
