Here are some of my favorite hikes in the area: 

  • McDowell Mountains Gateway Loop: NW Scottsdale, beginner level, panoramic views of the Valley
  • Camelback Mountain: Central Phoenix, intermediate to difficult level, nice views of the Valley
  • Dreamy Draw Recreation area: Central Phoenix, easy level, good for kids
