Its largest Gala to date, SIR Foundation filled the Beverly Wilshire on Sunday night to honor Constantin Cope, MD, FSIR, with the 2018 Frederick S. Keller, MD, Philanthropy Award. His family accepted the award on his behalf and spoke about their father’s incredible legacy and generosity.
The event also featured guest speaker Ryan Kiefer, a graduating medical student from the University of Pennsylvania, who shared his experience as an HHMI Fellow funded by SIR Foundation and a 2018 recipient of the Dr. Constantin Cope Medical Student Research Award.
The evening concluded with a paddle raise led by incoming SIR Foundation Chair Jeremy C. Durack, MD, MS, FSIR, to advance interventional radiology through research. The Gala raised more than $500,000 for SIR Foundation.
