Diversification of the IR Workforce Townhall
Tuesday, April 1, 4:45 p.m.
The panel will include experts in the IR healthcare disparities space, some of whom are representatives of the above groups, offering opinions on strategic initiatives seeking to overcome historic disparities in the IR physician workforce and its potential impact on improving the quality of care. Each member will discuss their opinions in an open forum without specific reference to a particular topic.
Research and Leadership Mixer hosted by the URM Section
Saturday, March 29, 10 a.m.–noon.
The Research and Leadership Mixer is tailored to benefit medical students and residents, offering them unique opportunities to engage with seasoned mentors in the specialty. Residents and medical students will have networking opportunities, mentorship sessions and exposure to career development insights. Group sessions will focus on topics such as research, leadership, navigating your early career years, advocacy and how to match in IR.

Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants (NP/PA) Section
NP/PA Section programming
Saturday, March 29, 8 a.m.–noon
The NP/PA Section will offer a 4-hour didactic program about various topics, including CT biopsy, men’s health, managing patients with pelvic congestion syndrome and POTS, and portal hypertension interventions, as well as case presentations from across modalities.
Advanced Skills Workshop for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
Sunday, March 30, 8:30–10 a.m. (Ticket and registration required)
This 90-minute APP hands-on workshop will feature ultrasound vascular access and biopsy stations, suturing, tunneled pleural and peritoneal catheters, bone lesion and marrow biopsies, as well as some newly added demonstrations this year on vascular interventions and training simulators.

Women in IR (WIR) Section
WIR/ACIR Leadership Seminar
Saturday, March 29, 3–5 p.m.
The joint WIR/ACIR Leadership Workshop is designed for all SIR members interested in starting a new leadership role or in taking their leadership to the next level. You will have the chance to hear from and interact with seasoned IR leaders at all levels: section chiefs, group/department chairs, hospital administration and society leaders. The workshop will start with a guided Q&A of the leadership panel before transitioning to small group discussions facilitated by the panel members covering commonly encountered but challenging topics.
- Learn about the different pathways into leadership at both local and national levels.
- Understand the difference between leadership and management, as well as when one would be more beneficial than the other.
- Learn how to approach a new leadership role and how to work with diverse teams to achieve optimal outcomes.
Women in IR InspIRed Lecture and Luncheon

Please join us for the annual Women in IR InspIRed Luncheon! This year’s Women in IR Section sponsored event will host a compelling conversation titled "All Roads Lead to IR" led by M. Victoria Marx, MD, FSIR; Kari Nelson, MD, FSIR; and Christina Marks, MD. We plan to have an engaging discussion with a panel of practicing women interventional radiologists discussing their path to IR and finding their place within the field. This will include a variety of practice models and service lines, and we look forward to a robust dialogue. We are also honored to be presenting the 2025 Women in IR Champion Award to Maureen P. Kohi, MD, FSIR, during this hour and look forward to networking and an interactive luncheon.

RFS/DEI: IR Basics
Saturday, March 29, 2:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.
This interactive session introduces medical students to the foundational concepts of IR through case-based learning. Small groups will rotate between stations for one-on-one discussions of key IR procedures, using interesting cases that highlight essential IR areas, with a focus on real-world clinical applications, decision-making, procedural techniques and patient management.
