Development courses
Stoke Course (CME activity)
For interventional radiologists interested or experienced in cerebral angiography, carotid revascularization, and/or endovascular stroke thrombectomy, the 2025 SIR Stroke Course will provide participants with the latest in stroke education, offering more than 8.5 hours of CME credit. Topics from the multidisciplinary faculty include stroke pathophysiology, the latest updates on stroke trials, emerging areas for endovascular thrombectomy, challenging interventions in refractory and tandem occlusion cases, and case presentations.
The SIR Business Institute offers a masterclass for interventional radiologists and practice administrators, focusing on improving business strategies in their field. The market for U.S. office-based labs and IR private practice shows significant growth potential. This is attributed to the increasing number of surgical procedures conducted in outpatient settings and the rising prevalence of vascular diseases. The U.S. office-based labs market was valued at $9.6 billion in 2021 and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.46% from 2022 to 2030.
Section lunches
Don’t miss out on the section lunches, which provide unmatched networking opportunities. A $35 fee is required to hold your spot, and ticketing closes on March 28. To purchase tickets after March 28, please visit the SIR registration desk for availability
Nurse Practitioners (NP) and Physician Assistants (PA) Section Luncheon (separate registration required)
NP and PA attendees are invited to attend the annual NP/PA Section Luncheon. Enjoy a lunch, play some trivia, and meet the other NPs and PAs from across the country, including members of the NP/PA Section’s Governing Council.
Underrepresented Minority (URM) Section Luncheon (separate registration required)
Join us for the URM Section’s 4th annual luncheon! The section will host a presentation and interactive discussion about the concept of RISE (Research with Inclusion, Social Justice and Equity) and how it can impact evidence-based research regarding healthcare disparities.
Women in IR InspIRed Lecture and Luncheon (separate registration required)
Please join us for the annual Women in IR InspIRed Luncheon! This year’s Women in IR Section sponsored event will host a compelling conversation titled "All Roads Lead to IR" led by M. Victoria Marx, MD, FSIR; Kari Nelson, MD, FSIR; and Christina Marks, MD. We plan to have an engaging discussion with a panel of practicing women interventional radiologists discussing their path to IR and finding their place within the field. This will include a variety of practice models and service lines, and we look forward to a robust dialogue. We are also honored to be presenting the 2025 Women in IR Champion Award to Maureen P. Kohi, MD, FSIR, during this hour and look forward to networking and an interactive luncheon.
Technology Showcases
A practical complement to the powerhouse programming for which the Annual Scientific Meeting is known, SIR’s Technology Showcases (formally known as hands-on workshops) allow attendees to explore the technologies powering the specialty in a uniquely interactive learning format, guided by clinician KOLs and industry experts.
During the technology showcase, you can experience a workshop for APPs and a hands-on lab, as well as learn about technology in embolics, arterial, nonvascular interventions, portal interventions, dialysis access and pain interventions.
Capacity is limited, but you can enroll at any time!
Deep Dive Labs (CME activity)
Elevate your SIR 2025 experience and refine your skills with deep-dive learning opportunities. The SIR Deep Dive Labs aim to help participants enhance specific skillsets and acquire knowledge of in-demand skills and know-how. Join us for a 2- or 4-hour Deep Dive Lab to upskill and reskill. These focused, short learning opportunities led by IR experts concentrate on one specific topic at a time. It encourages learning by doing and allows the attendee to stay relevant or acquire new knowledge to adapt.
Topics include:
- Thyroid RFA and goiter embolization
- Becoming an expert witness
- Percutaneous cholangioscopy: Advance your practice
